At the Domaine, we began harvesting on September 9th.

September 15th, 2011 : The 2011 Harvest at la Brillane

The grapes have ripered early practically ten days earlier than usual

It was very hot during the first day of harvesting reaching temperature of more than 30°C.

The grapes have continued to mature rapidly and the hot, dry weather is excellent for the quality of the vines.

The end result is a perfect balance between sugar and acidity which helps develop the aromas of this year’s wine.

All the Grenache, and some of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Syrah have already been harvested.

The first Rosés have now been pressed and the colors and aromas of the Syrah and the Grenache are very promising.

This week we shall harvest the Cinsault for the B rosé and we will continue the gathering of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Syrah for the red wines.
At the end of September we shall move on to the Counoise, Carignan and Mourvedre ; perhaps even waiting until October for the Mourvedre.
